The short answer is yes. It took us awhile before we found our way to this ambitious and epic 12-episode series on Netflix, but “Sense8” slowly drew us in until we were hooked. Like other tales from the Wachowskis, there are elements of sci-fi, martial arts, metaphysics and more. Unlike many stories in these genres, the characters are fully developed, though it takes a long time for their full stories to be revealed.
“Sense8” features eight central characters; eight separate stories that become interwoven. It’s about three episodes in that things begin to gel, but patient viewers will be rewarded the further the story advances. Given the number of reviews already online, we are keeping this short, but suggest that if you enjoy sci-fi, action and human drama, “Sense8” belongs on your Netflix TV shows list.
I just started, (binge watching), this series and immediately began worrying that there might not be a second season. The reasons: it looks expensive to produce, it requires a bit of patience from the viewer so that we care about and understand the individuals and allow the interactions to unfold at the director’s chosen pace. I love it.
I’m recommending it to friends who enjoy super sexy, smart sci-fi.
Netflix should pick it up and allow to story arc to build and it’s fan base to grow.
It’s a big investment on the part of Netflix, but they announced in August there will be a Sense8 season 2. Good news!
